💆‍♀️ Big News From Melissa

Happy Monday, MassageFIX fans. We have big news for you…As of January 1, 2026, Melissa will be retiring from the treatment room. I know this may seem like a sad, terrible thing, but it’s definitely not. She will be filling in when a therapist is sick, occasionally running the front desk, being the general manager, and supervising/teaching the new therapists. She has recently developed another massage modality called American Myofascial Vibrational Tapping™ and will be teaching it not only to our therapists but also across the country. This will also coincide with another new podcast opportunity and further writing projects: 2 massage books, one spiritual book, and hopefully some more industry magazine articles to add to her resume. So, if you thought for a minute she’s actually retiring from everything, sitting under a palm tree drinking a fruity beverage, you would be wrong.Don’t worry, Melissa will help you find the perfect therapist for you and your situation and will work with those therapists to make sure you are served to your satisfaction. She’ll even consult on your case. With all of that said, Melissa’s main and always most important focus is on building MassageFIX stronger because we have something really special here and no one else in Bowling Green has it. We excel at CLINICAL MASSAGE. What is that? Well, if you’ve successfully had a problem solved at MassageFIX, then you know it means real healing results for soft tissue injuries! The better question is: how does it differ from everyone else’s massage?

  1. Well, first, you know we are all licensed professionals in the state of KY, unlike the illegal sex shops that are disguised as massage places all over our town. We actually RESPECT the law.
  2. We take very thorough health history intakes to make sure you are safe and that we can really help you.
  3. We look up and fully understand your medications, surgeries, pathologies, etc.
  4. After the intake, we formulate a real treatment plan for your massage.
  5. We educate you throughout, letting you know what tools we are using and what they actually do.
  6. We reassess you after your massage, and we tell you what we did and what we couldn’t do and what your next steps are, without roping you into treatments that you don’t need. We will even refer you to another healthcare provider if that is appropriate for you.
  7. When you come back for the next visit, we don’t have to start over. We already know what’s going on. We reassess your progress and document everything. Then we move you into the next level of treatment.

What is American Myofascial Vibrational Tapping (AMVT)?

AMVT has its roots in Northern Thailand, dating back 5,000 years. They called it Tok Sen (literally, hammer the lines). They used wooden hammers and sticks to gently tap on the body as part of their medical system. In 2023, the U.S. National Institutes of Health peer-reviewed and republished an amazing research study on the efficacy of Tok Sen, clearly establishing it as the most profound pain-relieving massage modality, and showing that it reduced the thickness of spastic (overcontracted) muscles in the most dramatic fashion. Melissa and Noe have directly studied this modality with Living Sabai (official Thai instructors) in North Carolina. We brought it back to MassageFIX and put our clinical spin on it so that its results are measurable and repeatable. We are also contracting with a local woodworking artist to redevelop the tools used for more impactful applications. So, basically, it can be used on any painful soft tissue you have. It reduces pain and its effects on your muscles. It’s a nerve and soft tissue reset! Come in and see for yourself

When & Where Can I Get American Myofascial Vibrational Tapping?

As of right now, Melissa, Michael, and Noe are doing this technique. You can request it during any massage, or they may let you know it could be helpful and ask your permission to use it on a particular issue. No need to book a special massage service to receive this technique.
